Kyra is a 4 year old female Sharplaninac, a large and stunning shepherd-type breed. She originally came to the UK with her mum; both were rescued and placed with the same adopter.
Sadly, her mum passed away, and for reasons we don’t know, the adopter decided not to keep Kyra and passed her on to another home. After a year, that family could no longer meet her needs – and that’s when we stepped in.
Since then, Kyra has been through a lot. She went into a foster home with a loving family who cared for her so well but were unable to commit to her long-term. This meant Kyra ended up in kennels once again – alone and confused.
When she first arrived, she curled up in a corner, unsure of what she’d done wrong. But with gentle care and reassurance from the kennel team, Kyra has started to come out of her shell and realise she is safe once again.
Kyra is spayed and now nearly 4 years old. She is ready for a proper forever home – not just a stop along the way.
She would do best in an adult-only home or one with older children. She can live with other dogs, but she thrives on one-to-one attention. She hasn’t been tested with cats.
Kyra deserves a family who will love her unconditionally, show her the joy of a secure and happy life, and make her part of their everyday adventures.
