Eric is a 6 year old male Lurcher still looking for a new home. He initially arrived in November 2019 and is labrador-sized.
PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING.
We have no known history for Eric as he was originally an unclaimed stray. He loves other dogs whilst out for walks and has lived with other dogs at the sanctuary. Eric is best suited to medium to large confident female dogs.
He has grown in confidence with us at the sanctuary but is initially timid of new people, particularly men. Eric can be the only dog at home but would also be happy to live with another confident female.
He is initially shy in new surroundings but once he becomes familiar, he is very good. Eric is more comfortable around women, and we feel a quiet home with no children or cats and few visitors would be best.
Eric will likely accept a male in the home but will always choose the lady first. Once he feels comfortable, he is a very happy and playful boy. He would be happy in a home where someone is around for most of the time—perhaps an active retired lady or couple.
Eric has previously been adopted but was returned due to his nervous reaction towards a stranger when out walking. He needs time and understanding as he is a real gentleman and perfect indoors. He is very clean indoors and loves his food—he could easily develop the figure of a Labrador if left to eat the quantities he’d like!
Eric is a perfectly adoptable dog, and we would love to see him settled in a new home. With the team here, he loves us, and he really is no trouble. It’s just a case of getting to know each other, building a bond, and knowing how to manage certain behaviours.
Please contact us directly if you can offer Eric the home he needs. Please only apply if you live within a one-hour drive from Upminster, Essex, RM14.
