Ghost is a 9-year-old male Black and Tan Coonhound Cross. Weighing in at 30kg, he’s a larger boy with an even bigger heart. Ghost’s story began in the countryside of Calabria, southern Italy, where he was found abandoned and left to survive on his own.
At his age, he wasn’t anyone’s “shiny new puppy,” and sadly, that may be why he was cast aside. But despite his rough past, Ghost has shown he’s still full of love and loyalty — he just needed someone to believe in him first.
At first, Ghost was unsure of the humans trying to help him. Who can blame him? He had every reason to be cautious. But with time, patience, and kindness, he began to understand that not all people mean harm.
The volunteer who rescued him showed him safety, good food, and affection — and slowly, Ghost opened his heart again.
Now, this handsome hound is sociable, sweet, and great with other dogs and cats. He’s also good with adults, though he still needs a bit of time to feel comfortable around children, especially since he’s not used to them.
A home with older kids or adults who understand how to give him space would be ideal.
Ghost is looking for either a foster family or a forever home, and he’s ready to give back every ounce of love you give him. His loyalty and gratitude run deep — and once he trusts you, he’s yours for life.
