Exporters of live animals and animal products need an export health certificate (EHC) to export live animals and animal products, including to Northern Ireland.

Before you start
You’ll need a Government Gateway account and a Defra account. If you do not have them, you’ll be guided to set them up when you use the service for the first time.
When you set up your Defra account, select ‘sole trader’. Select this option even if it does not describe your organisation.
