“Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” ― Roy T. Bennett.

Earlier this month, we posted a beautiful example of a youth dreaming big – a story written by Kaley Kingsley entitled, “Quarter Horse Queen,” for our EC Photo of the Day.

Jaymie Drury, Chair of the Congress Queen Committee since 2017, caught wind of the story and she took action without hesitation.

Keep scrolling to see what Kaley’s mom, Anna Kingsley, said was the surprise in store for Kaley when they arrived at this year’s All American Congress Queen Contest!

“After you posted my daughter’s story, Jaymie, the head of the Congress Queen Contest, invited my daughter out to take some pictures with the Queens. When we arrived, my daughter had reserved seating and also was asked to help pass the awards to Jessica to distribute to the contestants who placed in each section. This was a complete surprise and my daughter had the absolute best day! She even got all the queens to autograph her story. Thank you so much for your part in this amazing day for my daughter,” Anna Kingsley.

On behalf of the Equine Chronicle, we want to say thank  you to Jaymie for reminding all of us about our industry and its strength, and congrats to Kaley on just the beginning of the many memories you will make!
